Lion Dance Across America - Tehama County
Join Red Bluff’s Historic Chinatown for the Fourth of July Parade hosted by the Los Molinos Chamber of Commerce! Special thanks to CHSA for producing "Lion Dance Across America" and helping us make our participation possible to celebrate America's 250th
Did you know? Chinese Americans have proudly participated in Independence Day celebrations for more than 170 years. Historical records document Chinese participation in Fourth of July events as early as 1852 in San Francisco, 1888 in Deadwood, South Dakota, 1908 in Red Bluff, and 1911 in New York City.
Today, communities across America from coast to coast are rediscovering these stories and recognizing the longstanding role Chinese Americans have played in our nation’s civic and patriotic traditions. As we celebrate our nation’s independence, we also celebrate the diverse communities that have helped shape American history.
We look forward to honoring this legacy and celebrating together in Los Molinos this Fourth of July!
Location: Los Molinos Veterans Memorial Building (Vets Hall)
